C.R.A.Z.Y.
That is my life. Some days the crazy is good, some days it's not so good, but the craziness is a definite constant. I know it's been a while since the last post, so let me catch you up to date on everyone :)
First, the title of the post. This week really is full of celebration. My mom celebrated her birthday, our sweet pup turned another year older this week, we are having Luke's birthday party on Friday, and the greatest celebration of all...the resurrection of our Lord and Savior from the cross.
As you may know, we have had some rounds of pretty rough storms hit Macon this month. We were extremely lucky durning both of those rounds....no damage to our house or family, but things were quite scary. The first round knocked a tree down, blocking the entrance/exit to our street, and took a power line with it. We were without power for 3 days. Yes, you read that right. How is it being a mom to 3 young children, one being a newborn, and 3 animals with no power for 3 days? Haha...not so fun. But we made it through. The worst that came out of it was that I had to throw out EVERYTHING in both of my frig/freezers :( Oh, and that I had a stomach ulcer. Bummer.
The second round was even scarier. I have never heard a tornado before, but am pretty sure that we heard the one that nearly missed our house. It literally touched down a few streets up from us, went up and over our house, and touched down on the other side. My neighbor had a tree slice through his house (thankfully, he was out of town) and do devastating damage. I cannot imagine if we were having to deal with those kind of repairs right now.
The house is still on the market. We've had a few lookers, but no interest. Brad and I are headed up to Nashville next weekend to look for our new home. This is all happening WAY TOO FAST!
Luke is potty trained! He decided over spring break, that it was time. No pressure from me, he just decided he was over it. This little boy has amazed me. He has been pretty much free from accidents and is a big boy now. Sometimes, I don't even know he has gone because he does it ALL BY HIMSELF. I sometimes get a little clue that he's been if his pants are on a little crooked ;) We are so proud of you Luke! Speaking of Luke, he will be 3 years old next Friday! Tomorrow is his party (Go Diego Go theme), so I will definitely post pictures after that.
Jackson is Jackson :) He is currently into ALL things dinosaur. You would be AMAZED at how many dinosaurs he knows, what period they lived in, what they ate, if they traveled in groups, etc. He still maintains that he wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up and I would say he's well on his way :) He is also very into counting and really just numbers of all sorts. His latest goal?...counting to 1,000. He is very proud of this accomplishment and tells just about everyone he meets that he can do it. My favorite Jackson quote from the last week?
"Mommy, is Laffy Taffy the capital of Florida? Oh wait, no, it's Tallahassee. They sound alike, though, don't they?" LOVE HIM!
Our sweet Gus turned 9 this week. Uggh, it makes me sad to know that he's one year older :( He is our true first baby. We got him the year before we got married. We love you, P! I hope you live to be an old, old man :) (Isn't this picture hysterical? I guess he feels safer in a booster ;))
Oh, Abby May :) Oddly enough, she is the calm in my storm. She is 3 months old today. I'm not really sure how much she weighs, but I think it's around 11 pounds. Bottom line...she's still teeny. She is smiling and cooing like crazy, which I LOVE! She sleeps for about a 9 hour stretch each night and then for another 3. Naps? Well, we are working on naps :) But, I have to say that she is getting better each day. Here is her 3 month bunny pic. Sweet, sweet baby...
So, there you have it...what I can remember, anyway :) Happy Birthday to Teddy, Gus, and Luke! Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of eternal life! Have a great Easter, everyone!
