Spring fever and savings

A random title for a post, I know. But I didn't want to do 2 separate ones. First, the savings. I have finally decided to take the plunge and join the world of couponing. Friends of mine have sworn by it for a while now, but I just didn't think I could add one more thing to my life. But, if you know me, I also have a hard time passing up a great bargain, so I decided to give it a go. After a few weeks of serious couponing (ecoupons, clipping, printables, bogos, store events, etc) I think I will probably continue on. I definitely see it as the type of thing that I will learn more the longer I do it....but so far, so good. Here is what I scored on my weekly trip. Included in this loot are....

-Dinner for my family of 4 for 5 nights this week (not including leftovers)

-Monthly supply of staples that we use frequently (juice, goldfish, cheese, etc)

-6 cans of sunscreen (in the next 6 months we are going on a cruise, to Hawaii, and to the beach...so this was a great buy! and yes, i checked the exp. date)

All of this loveliness for $64.36.

I am thrilled anytime I can go to the grocery store and spend less than $100, so I was very happy to spend this amount and get so much in return. So, for now, I will press on with the couponing craze :)

We had a few days here and there recently that got me and the boys itching for spring. We have a creek that runs behind our house and I think the boys would live down there if I would just pitch them a tent. So on one of those warmer days, we bundled up, put on our puddle boots, and headed down to have some fun.

I am so sad to think about leaving this house next year when Brad is finished with residency...but looking forward to making even more memories such as this one before it's time to leave :)
