Alfie

Well, Alfie has officially joined our family...and it feels like he's been a part of it all along. This has been the easiest transition we have had when adding a new kitten to the brood...something we have done several times. He is such a sweet little kitty. He's not scared or shy, purrs all the time, just wants to be around us, is playful, and, most importantly....he loves Jackson and is willing to be toted around EVERYWHERE!

He and Gus are very curious about each other
Annibelle, on the other hand, is not being shy about letting him know that she is the boss around here...and that she doesn't like him (yet)
And this little guy LOVES him to pieces :)Jackson said to me the other night
"Do you know what my favorite part about Alfie is, Mommy?"
"Picking him up."
Here is a video of him playing with his favorite toy. I could watch him do this all day :)
We love you Alfie!

A long time coming...

This weekend is going to be fun-filled...a sweet blonde boy fishing off the dock with his Chief...the wedding celebration of a dear childhood friend in beautiful Highlands...wedding cake...being reminded of what it feels like to sleep in on a lazy Saturday morning...two days ALONE with my husband...wedding cake, did I mention wedding cake?...and on Sunday, we will add a new furry friend to make us a family of 7 :)
We have been wanting another kitty for a long time now. It's been over a year since we lost our dear Max, and I think we are ready to try and fill the giant void he left behind.

So, on Sunday, sweet Alfie will join our already crazy lives.

Promising plenty of cute kitten pictures to come...

In Luke's defense...

...he has a double ear infection. So that might explain why he had such rough days at MMO and church nursery this week. Let's hope that is the main reason, and that we have a better go at it next week!

Sorry, Luke...for implying that you were a cry baby ;)

Luke's 1st day of school

My little Luke had his first day of school today. Well, Mother's Morning Out, but we call it school. He is going 9-12 on Tues/Thurs to the same place that Jackson goes to Pre-K. Mommy enjoyed a nice morning of exercising, listening to my own radio station in the car, and shopping...ALL BY MYSELF :) But I couldn't wait to get back and pick up those sweet boys.
His bag...packed and ready to go.Again...couldn't you just eat him up?!Sweet brothers, ready for school.Jackson was kind enough to walk (drag) him in :)
Showing Luke his classroom. This is how we left him...happy to have things to climb on.

It was a different story when I went back to pick him up. There were tears, running of the nose, rubbing of the eyes, and pitiful cries of "bank-bank (his lovey), "bye-bye", and "go".
We'll see how Thursday goes :)

Eeequarium

A few weeks ago we were able to take Jackson to The Aquarium, or Eeequarium as he calls it. He was sooooo excited about our trip and couldn't wait for the special day. We left Luke behind with Teddy and enjoyed a day out with just Mommy, Daddy, and our special 3 year-old boy. This was Jackson's 3rd visit to The Aquarium, although probably the first one he'll remember...his other trips were at 3 and 10 months old. He insisted on wearing his shark shirt that day in honor of the "ocean animals".He LOVED getting to pet the sting rays and hammerhead shark. He did finally get to touch them...this is the only video I could get to upload.

We had to take advantage of his dimples and cute little voice to get a chance to touch a starfish :)
At the 4D movie...I promise he was excited.
He told me that the alligator waved at him
I love how his tennis shoes are glowing
Riding down the whale slide with Mommy
Checking out a ray..
...a very different picture...his 1st visit at 3 months old
His favorite animals were the beluga whales. He said he liked them because they looked like they were dancing and they smiled at him a lot. We went home with our very own beluga from the gift shop, named Ben :)
After our morning, we met Kikye at The Varsity for some hamburgers and ice cream.
What a day!
